On Saturday, September 23, 2017, at 10:30 am, NYSUT will be sponsoring the I Love Public Education 5K Run/ Walk! The proceeds from the Run/Walk will benefit the NYSUT WNY Retiree Council Teacher Grants fund and the Schoolhouse Democrats.
The event will take place at Wilkeson Point on the Buffalo Outer Harbor. Parents, teachers, students, administrators, and everyone and anyone who cares about the future of our public schools is welcome to come and join the fun.
The 5K Run/Walk will start and finish on Wilkeson Point using the Walk in Lauren's Shoes USATF certified 5K course. The 5K race will be preceded by a "Kids Fun Run" for children at 10:00 am with free prizes for all fun run entrants. After that, the race begins at 10:30. Anyone who loves public education and loves to run is encouraged to join us for a fun day!
Post race party at Wilkeson Point with beer for adults and post race snacks for all!
